Drug Use In Bodybuilding
Doping in sport has been a controversial topic for many years , but the most remarkable pioneering drugs in sport was Jean Ziegler , who was a doctor at the weightlifting team in the United States . In 1959, Ziegler created the anabolic steroid Dianabol commonly called, is currently sold in both oral and injectable forms and has become a popular choice among bodybuilders or those looking for "perfect" body . Bodybuilding perhaps more than other sports, is a socio- cultural environment that normalizes the instrumental use (as opposed to "abuse" ) steroids and steroid medications accessories ( Monaghan, 2001). While the population uneducated wider casting judgment against those who use performance-enhancing drugs as " cheaters " , these people are often narrow-minded and fail to see both sides of the story , so the purpose of this article is not to throw my opinion, but to reveal both sides of the argument.
Evidence to support use
Savulescu , Foddy and Clayton (2004 ) supported the open use of performance enhancing drugs , explaining that the well- being of the athlete must be our primary concern. If a drug does not expose an athlete to excessive risk , we should allow even if it improves performance. We have two choices : to try in vain to go back, or to rethink what we are and what sport is , and make a new Olympic 21st century. Not a super- Olympic Olympics , but more human. Our crusade against drugs in sport has failed. Rather than fearing the drugs in sport , we must embrace . If we were to use in the sport, it would be followed by medical professionals rather than the athletes themselves the injection at home and create a safer outcome for the athlete .
Evidence to support obsolescence
Perhaps one of the most controversial elements of performance enhancing drugs is that it is safe , and one case was a 23 year old bodybuilder who took an unknown amount of anabolic steroids combined with many other performance enhancing drugs over a period of about nine months. After visiting a dance club, he went to bed at 4:00 in the morning and 6 hours later, he was found unconscious and resuscitation failed. A number of well-known bodybuilding drugs were found in his apartment as Testex Leo , Proviron , Thybon , Clomifen and Aldactone , it has been suggested that these drugs were the cause of his death ( Hausmann, Hammer & Betz, 1998) .
So, is enhancing drugs " cheating " performance?
Think about it , can you really call it cheating if everyone had access to performance-enhancing drugs . There is this notion of " fair play " and " sportsmanship " ... but like every competitor must know, gain an advantage even as little as 1% is a risk many are willing to take. Why is it , however, we focus so much on performance enhancing drugs when there is such a thing as match-fixing in progress.
conclusion
So in conclusion , performance-enhancing drugs is a subject face but that must be solved , we need to create a safe environment for the athlete, but also remember that all athletes want to be their best, which means longer turning to performance enhancing drugs . More undetectable drugs are produced , so how long before each athlete takes performance enhancing drugs without getting caught . Hope this was helpful , and you can now make your own informed opinion on the use of drugs in sport and in particular bodybuilding.
